Changes at Simply Perfect Home

Hi Blogfriends! Exciting news over here!

I recently landed my very first design client, which is why I've been so MIA. It's a limited budget, so we're gettin' crafty.

A few sneak peeks into what we've got going on:

Hable Construction bird fabric for roman shades, a bed skirt and some accent pillows...I love this!!

Another peek...

Refurbishing a family chandelier...fresh paint, a little wipe on Poly and we'll be in business!

Horrible pic, but a fresh coat of paint and nickled hardware will sweeten this vintage dresser right up!

I was a little worried about my ability to choose things for someone else, but so far, so good. The client has been easy to work with and really has just gone along with all of my selections!

But then again, what's the lil' bean going to do? I'm sort of holding him/her captive for the next 6 months.

BTW: apologies for the blurry photo. It's a combination of my shaky hands and the fact that the sonogram technician had a difficult time getting a clear pic of our babe because he/she was VERY excited about the paparazzi and wouldn't sit still for a second. Which leads us to the following conclusion: this is his/her Daddy's child.

Finally, a caveat...if our lil' bit turns out to be a lil' boy, I will be male-ing up the room a tad, no worries.  Just haven't figured out how yet. I'm not so great at the boy stuff. :)

While I don't actually know you, I am SOOO excited for you! I just had my first baby in April and know the indescribable excitement you are experiencing. It is the most amazing time, enjoy! Your ultrasound photo made me very nostalgic. Plus, I know how much fun planning a nursery is, enjoy that too. Hope you're feeling well and keep us posted!

Congratulations! Let me know if you decide to stay home and we can walk in the neighborhood with our little ones. Also, we can start our own design company:-) I created a blog recently and should update it soon with nursery pics...that's the best room in the house to decorate, so enjoy! XO, Laura Stansell
